Wendy Riding
Wendy Riding has been involved in calisthenics for most of her life. She spent 16 years at Ballarat Calisthenics College before starting Jayde in 1990, where she is a Principal Coach. Wendy received her coaching accreditation in 1988 and is currently working towards obtaining her Level 2 coaching accreditation.
In 1999 and 2003, Wendy coached the Victorian Sub-Junior State Teams who went on to win the National Championships.
Wendy is an accredited calisthenic adjudicator, travelling all over Victoria to adjudicate both solo and team competitions. She has always been a role model to cadet coaches within the club and supports her coaching team to achieve the best possible outcomes for their students.
Wendy is very proud of the achievements the club has already made over the past 30+ years and continues to strive towards making Jayde Calisthenic Club a successful and family friendly environment.
Paula Horgan
Paula is a Principal Level 1 Coach at Jayde, currently coaching our Juniors class as well as a number of soloists and pupil skills across all age groups. She has been a mentor to many of our cadet coaches over the years, and is now working towards attaining her Level 2 coaching accreditation. Paula has always been passionate about calisthenics, which is demonstrated by her ongoing commitment to the sport. She competed for 26 years, starting at the age of three, and like many of us, calisthenics became a big part of her life. She has been a member of the Victorian State Team on five occasions, and was Assistant Coach of the winning Sub-Junior Victorian State Team in 1999.
Paula has performed many graceful girl solos and worked her way through the ACF Pupil Skills program, where she achieved her bronze, silver and the prestigious gold medal award with Honours. She is also a recipient of an Australian Sports Medal for her calisthenics. In 2013 she was an integral part of the Jayde coaching team who were awarded the ACF Pupil Skills Coaches of the Year. Paula's daughter is also now sharing this passion for calisthenics and Paula thoroughly enjoys supporting her at classes as a calisthenics mum.
