About
Established in 1990 and located in Ballarat, Jayde Calisthenic Club was founded by sisters and Principal Coaches Donna Flynn and Wendy Riding. Jayde is managed by a committee of volunteers, elected annually at our AGM.
Donna, Wendy and their younger sister Paula all attended Ballarat Calisthenic College and were inspired to open their own club to pass on their love and passion for the sport. At Jayde, our aim is for all participants to have fun and enjoy their calisthenics. Along the way, our pupils learn commitment, dedication and the importance of teamwork, improving their self-esteem and confidence. While it takes hard work to perfect each item, the fun and excitement of performing in magnificent theatres, in beautifully designed costumes make it all worthwhile.
Jayde has thrived over the years, and become known in calisthenics circles as a “friendly club”. It has been said that at Jayde, you don’t just join a club, you become part of a family, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. That’s what keeps our girls coming back year after year!
In 2023 we lost our co-founder Donna. Donna was the very essence of our club and her contribution to calisthenics reached far beyond our local community. She was our leader, our mentor, our friend. Words cannot truly express the impact of this immeasurable loss. Our club is committed to continue the amazing legacy Donna left us with by supporting the future of calisthenics in our community.
